Floral Wedding Dress of Dreams at Cowdray House
Danica and Alex married on a glorious sunny day last July at the wonderful, prestigious Cowdray House in West Sussex, featuring the stunning 'Willa' floral wedding dress.
Danica wore the stunning 'Willa' by House of Savin. The strapless gown is hand painted in soft pink and purple florals. A corseted bodice cinches the waist and then the beautiful full skirt flutters romantically around the legs. The front skirt split allows for a flash of colourful shoes. We had bespoke straps made for Danica to achieve her perfect look.
Danica - "It’s a couple weeks since our gorgeous wedding day and cannot stop admiring pictures of my dress. It was absolutely perfect! I wanted to thank you again for all your help, and squeezing me in between trips to the UK-US. I had the best wedding day and sooo many compliments on the dress. Your seamstress also was amazing to work with and got the straps just right!"
How did you decide upon the dress that you chose?
" I knew I wanted something more fun rather than traditional because we did have a civil ceremony prior to the wedding celebrations. Funny enough, I saw my dress 'Willa' online a year before selecting the dress, but talked myself out of it thinking it was too bold (it wasn’t it was perfect in the end!)"
What was the favourite part of your dress shopping experience?
" That feeling of trying THE dress on. It definitely has a different feeling to others. Once you start comparing others to the one dress and they all feel dull it’s game over."
What shoes and accessories did you choose and why?
" I chose pink Badgley Mischka shoes, in keeping with the bold dress colors. It felt very “Barbie” in the best way. Accessories I chose silver to bring out the silver accent in the dress, and kept it very elegant yet bold with drop rhinestone earrings, a Swarovski crystal necklace and bracelet, and my grandmothers old rhinestone bracelet as well to tie in past generations."
Venue, please describe your venue and why you chose it?
"Being an American marrying and Englishman, we had friends and family from both countries coming. Right off the bat, if we were doing this in England I knew I wanted it to look like something that would never be found in America. We settled on Cowdray House, our first venue visit and we fell in love right away. It had the right mix of old and new, and accommodated overnight guests which was important to us with a destination wedding"
Did you have a specific colour palette or theme for your wedding day?
"Lots of pinks and some blue, whimsical and elegant"
How did you feel in your dress on your special day?
" I felt absolutely amazing. After getting the dress, I had it altered and added a strap to the strapless dress, and it came out amazing for the day."
What was your favourite moment of the day?
"Can I say all of it?? It was honestly the most perfect day. Maybe a top highlight is the drinks reception on the open croquet lawn because it was the first moment we got to greet and talk with everyone!"
Did you have a first dance?
"Perfect by Ed Sheeran, performed by a live band"
